WAGE RATE: $32.17 – $42.50

Reporting to the Manager Application Solutions & Services, this position is responsible for providing Cerner product expertise needed for the successful management of the Pharmacy Application and Electronic Medication Administration. Key responsibilities include acting as the primary departmental/functional resource dedicated to building, testing, implementing and supporting the application database. All roles are essential in providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and others by ensuring that health and safety policies are followed.

Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:

Required:

  • Licensure with Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Cerner applications including: PharmNet Inpatient Formulary Manager, DCP Tools, Pha DB Tools, Discern Analytics, Discern Developer, and Reflections
  • Solid understanding of policies and processes in the user department(s) for which the application(s) is being supported
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience within a hospital Pharmacy Department preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with Medical Manager Order Entry System preferred
  • Current or recent experience as a member of an end-user department
  • Demonstrated understanding of the complexity and integration between PowerChart, Clinical Documentation, eMAR, FirstNet, SurgiNet
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word and Excel (to be tested)
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology (to be tested)
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Proven self-starter with sound judgment and decision making ability with evidence of innovative, critical and logical thinking
  • Meticulous planning and successful completion and support of highly complex projects including design, written change control processes, test scripts and implementation of change
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple conflicting demands
  • Diplomacy, tact and ability to negotiate deliverables with user community and colleagues
  • Advocate for change to an electronic environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of health service integration
  • Ability to collaborate with other regional healthcare partners
  • Ability to effectively translate technical information systems terminology to end-user levels
  • Demonstrated customer service and responsiveness required
  • Available for all shifts, including weekends and overtime, and ability for multi-site coverage and international travel when required
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and use of vehicle to support travel
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
