The Opportunity:
The Facility Attendant provides customer support and service to user groups, assists with facility set ups, takedowns, and cleaning for a variety of functions and events.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversees the arrangement and removal of tables, chairs, and equipment for events. Ensures spaces are clean, washroom supplies are stocked, and facility equipment is operational.
- Provides a wide variety of maintenance and custodial duties, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained facility for users. These duties may include lifting and setting up tables, chairs, mopping floors, facility cleaning, emptying garbage and recycle bins, and facility opening and closing procedures
- Effectively communicates facility information and provides public relations and safety education for clients and visitors to ensure safe use of the facility
- Monitor facility areas and client activities to ensure the facilities, equipment and supplies are used in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring all standards and codes are met
- Apply judgement and decision making related to event issues with minimal guidance
- Ensure that events comply with safety policies, guidelines, procedures and all relevant health and safety legislation as it relates to operations, including but not limited to AHS, AGLC, and building occupancy requirements
- Ensure client actions and facility use adhere to facility rental policies and procedures to provide and maintain a safe environment and respond to incidents within the facility
- Maintains professional and friendly relationships with clients and provides exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns and questions
You Bring:
- High School Diploma
- A minimum of 18 years of age
- Intermediate First Aid, CPR-C & AED is required
- Pro-Serve would be an asset
- Previous event experience will be considered an asset
- Able to provide exceptional front line customer care
- Custodial experience is preferred
- Highly organized with the ability to quickly align with shifting priorities, work assignments and timelines
- Ability to work with considerable independence within a team environment
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to deal with people in a tactful manner and to act with sound judgment under pressure

Additional Information:
This is a part-time position and will require the ability to work a flexible shift schedule (day, evening, and weekend shifts). All facility attendants are required to be available for one (1) shift per week (no guaranteed minimum hours). Monthly schedules will be set based on your availability and operational needs.
Successful candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and will be required to regularly lift (up to 30 pounds), bend, push, pull and kneel to manage the manual labor component of the position.
