About the role

In this role, you’ll coordinate and optimize the weekly schedule for facility maintenance and project work. In this role, you will take ownership of the work plan, ensuring that each project and maintenance task aligns with site priorities. What will you be doing!

  • Interfacing and utilizing information from Planners, Facilities, Engineering, and Resources to manage the Rolling Schedule.
  • Leading in developing the Scope of Work for any assigned work week.
  • Tracking upcoming work plans, project work, and maintenance work at predetermined intervals.
  • Consulting with Facility and Equipment Owners regularly to ensure maintenance is completed as required.
  • Reviewing priorities assigned to each job in the Computerized Maintenance Management System and consulting with the Planning Coordinator to verify priorities.
  • Reviewing Work Plans and project jobs to assess the requirements for performing work and scheduling activities.
  • Evaluating the impact of emergent and high-priority work and facilitating their execution by coordinating with other work groups.
  • Implementing long-term plans to optimize the availability, reliability, and operability of equipment.
  • Attending and chairing regular meetings, exercising 3-way communication, and demonstrating leadership.
  • Exercising strong written and clear communication skills.
  • Assist with developing the week look-ahead plan and rolling schedule, loading and levelling schedules based on resource availability.
  • Providing planning support for work activities using the planning process and recommending continuous improvements.
  • Providing input to other planning coordinators to prepare the weekly look-ahead schedule and Daily Work Program.
  • Assisting customer groups with developing work plans and coordination schedules.
  • Interfacing with customers and maintenance work groups to determine required resources for jobs and scheduling conflicts.
  • Tracking ongoing work and providing updated progress.
  • Attending Training and Safety meetings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • Minimum 3-year college diploma or equivalent education
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of technical and/or maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Ability to stay motivated and achieve and establish goals and objectives.
    • Ability to mediate conflicting needs of other Planning Coordinators, maintenance work groups and customers.
    • Ability to interact effectively with maintenance work groups and technical personnel.
    • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and industrial systems and equipment.
    • Ability to produce coordination plans and organize large numbers of activities logically and sequentially.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to adjust complicated work schedules as needed.
    • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to organize work tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Skilled in the use of computer programs and a willingness to continue training in Work Management System-related software.
    • Willingness to maintain and enhance knowledge of industry planning methodologies.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
