Mobile Screening Program
Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to provide administrative and research support for the Mobile Screening Program.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, highly competent individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills with a good understanding of clinical and research practice, who possesses the knowledge and skills needed to work in a clinical and research environment.
Responsibilities
Administrative support:
- Coordinate participants booking for the Mobile Screening Program- assessing eligibility, reviewing/updating patient demographics, scheduling appropriately into a varied clinic schedule.
- Organizing consents from participants.
- Sending out survey questionnaire post visit.
- Collect and enter participant data as needed.
- Baseline and follow-up data entry and clinical report creation within EPIC.
- General office support including handling phone calls/messages.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Research support:
- Support day-to-day operations and responsibilities of ongoing research projects in conjunction with research team members.
- Regularly meet with MSP team to update stats.
- Collect and enter participant data.
- Actively contribute to the participant recruitment strategy and activities for MSP.
Requirements:
- Bilingualism is an asset.
- BSc in a health-related discipline.
- Previous work experience in a clinical or research environment.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills with the ability to multitask are essential for ensuring study progress.
- High level of proficiency with computer software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Epic).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to work onsite at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
- Experience working with spreadsheets and database applications.
- Experience in a clinical research environment; willingness to progressively seek and obtain research assistant qualifications.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
