On- Call, Volunteer

Hourly Wage: $30.28

Job Summary:
After extensive training, each member is issued a pager and directed to respond to their assigned fire hall when the pager is activated. As a Paid Per Call Firefighter, you will be asked to respond to a variety of emergency incidents, including; structure fires; car accidents; and medical first response. On occasion, you will also be invited to participate in public education events, parades and assist with fire safety inspections.

Position Requirements:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 18 years of age

  • Have a valid Ontario Class G driver’s license

  • Complete a physical examination as required by the Dryden Fire Service

  • Obtain & maintain valid Standard First Aid with CPR/AED

  • Successfully complete the Dryden Fire Service Recruit Training and achieve NFPA 1001 & 1072

  • Successfully complete a 12-month probationary period commencing after recruit training

  • Maintain at least 30% attendance for incident responses

  • Maintain at least 50% attendance for regular weekly skills maintenance training

  • Maintain at least 50% attendance for hall checks & apparatus inspections

    • Obtain & maintain a valid Ontario Class D license with air brake endorsement within 2 years of hire date
