Salary Range: $26.68 - $31.37 /hour

St. Joseph's Health Care London's Pharmacy Department provides care across all St. Joseph's sites: St. Joseph's Hospital, Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care, Parkwood Institute Main Building and Finch Family Mental Health Care Building, and Southwest Centre for Forensic Mental Health. The Pharmacy Department also provides care directly to members of our community through the two Prescription Shop pharmacies located at St. Joseph's Hospital and the Finch Family Mental Health Care Building at Parkwood. The Pharmacy Department welcomes learners year-round, including pharmacy technician students, pharmacist students, and a pharmacy resident.
The Prescription Shop at St. Joseph's Hospital is a community pharmacy providing service to patients visiting ambulatory clinics and the Urgent Care Centre in the hospital, staff of St. Joseph's, and residents of Mount Hope Centre for Long-Term Care. The Pharmacy Assistant plays a key role in contributing to workflow efficiency with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to: inventory management, point of sale service, dispensary-related tasks, and overall customer service to provide an exceptional patient experience in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Qualifications
- Secondary (High) School Diploma
- Pharmacy Assistant certificate
- Minimum two years recent retail pharmacy assistant experience within the last three years
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong mathematical skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team
- Comprehensive knowledge of inventory control and management systems
- Health and physical condition consistent with heavy lifting, pushing, bending, walking, sitting, standing, and keyboarding
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous computer experience, particularly with Kroll and Microsoft 365 suite
- Proficiency in French is considered an asset
Teaching and Research
- St Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
