About the role
Come work as a clinical intern on our team of clinical intake coordinators, where we are a collaborative private practice that offers trauma-informed counselling with Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC's) . Part time needed (18-20 hours/week) and seeking a candidate who is interested in pursuing a career in counselling psychology, with growth and promotion opportunities available. Clinical experience in mental health, families, LGBTQ+ and trauma needed. We see a diverse range of clients, second language an asset.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Psychology or Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology;
- Minimum 2-3 years clinical/mental health experience with multiple populations.
- Mental health certifications/courses are an asset.
- Crisis Line experience is an asset.
- Jane experience is an asset.

Shift Expectations (To start as soon as possible):
- 18-20 hours a week with Tuesday shifts mandatory.
- 1-2 shifts a week will be in-person at our Vancouver office, the rest of the shifts will be virtual. Candidate expected to have a confidential work space with strong and confidential wifi.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Work on a clinical intake team doing client care for people seeking counselling services including answering phone calls, emails, and performing clinical intake calls to match clients with our counselling team.
- Performs client case management with an assigned caseload of clients to support throughout their mental health journey as the clinic.
- Performs clinical billing tasks and connect with billing lead and accounting on supporting our clients with insurers, direct billing, and daily billing tasks.
- Coordinates, monitors, assigns and documents client and clinical care activities.
- Performs weekly office maintenance duties to maintain cleanliness of our Vancouver counselling offices and reception space. Candidate expected to meet 3-4 hours of office maintenance and cleaning duties per week including plant care.
- Acts as a liaison between clients, client families, and health care professionals
- Collects and inputs client data, insurance information and financial information into Jane app.
- Ensures efficient billing and maintenance with Jane app, prepares reports as needed.
- Project development, implementation, execution, and evaluation (community engagement projects, advertising projects, etc.).
- Works to create efficient systems and workflows within the clinic.
- Innovate ways to improve the quality of client care provided by our company.
- Attends All-Staff meetings and stays up-to-date on business initiatives related to the clinics.
- Assists with staffing processes and procedures (e.g., onboarding preparations, training, etc.).
- Provide crisis intervention and resources.
- Other clinical and administrative duties.
Candidate Qualities:
Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving and identification, creativity in marketing strategies, ability to work independently, multitasking and organization, sound clinical judgment, exceptional level of quality and attention to detail, intuitive and sensitive to context, proactive, and ability to build strong relationships with clients and staff, team-oriented attitude, exceptional communication skills.
Knowledge & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of mental health and DSM-5 terminology
- Ability to communicate mental illnesses and recovery/treatment options effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Innovative thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and react effectively to emergency situations, such as suicidal behaviour or crisis
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team
- Ability to prioritize, take initiative, and be flexible
- Knowledge of other health disciplines and community resources
- Computer literacy to operate Jane app, Excel, Trello, Canva, etc.
- Willingness to work with a culturally diverse population is required
