About the Opportunity

The Advisor is responsible for providing high level, comprehensive management of the North Nova Residency Program as well as visiting medical learners by effectively coordinating all administrative activities, establishing procedures and guidelines and medical educational residency placements. This position provides additional support to individuals, committees or working groups as assigned. This position also collaborates and communicates with residents, faculty, specialists, university administrators and other stakeholders on a daily basis.

Ability to travel, as required; attendance at Maritime-wide meetings is required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree is required
  • Post-Secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration or secretarial program is an asset
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience, providing administrative management support and office coordination at a senior level
  • Previous working experience in healthcare or medical education, coupled with familiarity of integrated service models provided throughout several locations with multiple partners and stakeholders is strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing, multi-tasking and organizational skills are required
  • Experience and demonstrated competencies requiring advanced skills and abilities in all facets of office practices and technologies and with information and meeting technologies
  • Ability to foster and promote excellent relationships with the various stakeholders which include medical students, residents, faculty, colleagues, Nova Scotia Health and university administration
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Detail-orientated with ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality and accuracy of work
  • Ability to competently work independently as well as cohesively within a team environment
  • Excellent work ethic and attendance record
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles to ensure appropriate financial management within a defined budget
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits

$27.46 - $34.32 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
