About the role
- Scope of Position:
To feed and remove materials for Transfer, Progressive and Manual Presses
- Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload coils on feeders using overhead crane.
- Weighs coils using crane scale.
- Pick coils using bar coders- first in first out
- Feed and remove material bins.
- Transport steel coils, and blanks to and from presses.
- Loads coils and blanks into feeders or blank carts.
- Transport die's to and from Toolroom and Press Shop.
- Load and unload dies from presses.
- Participate in the Quick Die Change Program.
- Participate in the Employee Involvement Program.(Kaizen)
- Double check bar code information.
- Transport stampings to assigned locations.
- Must follow non-conforming procedures when conditions arise.
- Keep coil storage clean, organized and safe.
- Keep wood skids organized and stored safe.
- Ensures Tow motors are kept clean and safe.
- Completes Tow motor inspections at the start of each shift and record information on Tow motor safety checklist.
- Works in a safe manner and observes plant safety rules and regulations at all times.
- Participates in all housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Reports any abnormalities or unsafe conditions to parts or machinery to their manager or Supervisor.
- Will maintain due diligence in regard to environmental matters, minimize any potentially harmful
Accidents. Will follow the environmental guidelines for aspects as outlined in the job training requirements.
- Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Department Manager
- Abide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, policies and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA
- Work in compliance and conform to the Environment and ISO14001 and IATF16949 standards
- Adopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities
- Key Relationships:
- Press Shop Manager
- Press Shop Supervisors
- Press Shop Operators
- Press Shop Set up Personnel
- Shipping Personnel
- Maintenance Personnel
- Toolroom Personnel
- Assembly Departments
- Basic Requirements:
- Must have 6 months experience.
- Must have valid tow motor driver’s certificate.
- Basic knowledge required in safe working procedures for Tow motor operations.
- Good communications and organization skills.
