About the role

e4c Financial Empowerment Programs include a variety of financial empowerment programs including Make Tax Time Pay and Empower U. The programs focus on low income Edmontonians, many of whom are facing significant personal, social, economic and cultural barriers. As a Financial Empowerment Coordinator, you will play a key role in coordinating, delivering, and evaluating programming that helps individuals and families achieve greater financial well-being. You’ll work directly with participants, partners, and community organizations to deliver inclusive, client-centered supports that make a lasting impact. What You Bring

  • Facilitation Skills: Lead engaging workshops and coaching sessions that empower participants with financial knowledge.
  • Empathy & Advocacy: Support individuals in navigating financial systems while respecting their lived experiences.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with participants, volunteers, and community partners to enhance program impact.
  • Problem-Solving: Guide individuals through financial challenges using person-centered and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Organization & Data Management: Track program progress and outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Literacy Education: Deliver group workshops and individual coaching sessions to help participants with budgeting, saving, and accessing financial resources.
  • Program Coordination: Lead financial empowerment programs, including Make Tax Time Pay, Benefits Navigation Champion, Empower U, and Financial Literacy sessions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build partnerships with agencies, government bodies, and community organizations to enhance financial empowerment initiatives.
  • Volunteer Training: Recruit, train, and support volunteers and staff on financial literacy topics and tax preparation assistance.
  • Impact Measurement: Collect data, conduct evaluations, and report on program effectiveness to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Education: Post-secondary education in human services, education, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in financial literacy, community development, or social services, with experience in coaching or group facilitation.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, financial software, and data management. Experience working with diverse populations is an asset.
