Position Overview:

As the world's largest Caterpillar dealer, we are looking for the Best Heavy Duty Mechanic who is ready to build a long-term career with Finning. We set you up with dealer grade training and all the tools you need to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a variety of Caterpillar open pit mining equipment with Alberta's oil sands. This position follows a 14x14 continuous shift rotation based at our Fort McMurray town shop.

Job Description:

  • Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and perform equipment repairs
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic

Note:

  • This shop position is on a 14x14 day/night shift rotation based out of our Fort McMurray town shop facility
  • HET Apprentices may be considered based on experience
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
  • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement
  • Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
