Job Description Located out of our Calgary office, the Accountant – Marketing Finance will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing Accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for accounting, invoicing, analysis and reporting within the Marketing Accounting team.
Key Activities And Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly income statement business unit analysis and reporting requirements for Offgas Marketing business
- Prepare month-end journal entries and supporting schedules
- Prepare inventory models, accrual to actual analyses, account reconciliations, and monthly financial reports
- Present monthly financial results to business leaders
- Prepare monthly invoicing for NGL and Crude Marketing businesses, coordinate monthly settlements and cheque exchange, and comply with SOX requirements
- Prepare monthly lease and capital schedules and journal entries
- Support accounts receivable and payable processes
- Liaise and work closely with marketers to understand contracts
- Provide accounting recommendations to various stakeholders
- Assist with business process improvements and involvement in special projects as required
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and internal reporting as required
Education, Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree - Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- CPA designation or close to completion
- 2-4 years of previous experience in a similar role/industry
- Knowledge and experience in accounting under IFRS
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
- Ability to manage internal and external relationships with well-developed interpersonal, team, presentation and communication skills
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Hours Monday-Friday, full time, 40 hours per week
As this position is identified as security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.
