About the role
Line Cook at Bar Koukla
We are looking for a skilled line to cook join our culinary team at Bar Koukla! This position will start part time with the possibility of becoming full time. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in a similar full service restaurant, can work well both independently and part of a team and have flexibility with their schedule.
We are looking for another team member for lunch/brunch, so Friday to Sunday morning availability is required. Shifts are typically 8am-5/6pm.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues
- Help coordinate production as it relates to restaurant and banquet functions
- Assist the Executive Chef with developing new dishes
- Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings
- Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage
- Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Schedule: Afternoons, Evenings, Weekends, Weekend Mornings & Holidays
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the Culinary field required ( 2 years)
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
