The Role
Intelligent Wellhead Systems (IWS) is seeking a full-time Shop Supervisor to join our team in Midland, TX. IWS designs, tests, manufactures, and deploys proprietary and unique digital safety and efficiency workflow technologies for oil and gas well completion operations. The company’s inVision Technology Platform helps oil and gas, as well as oilfield services, companies reduce operating risk, lower the total cost of operations, and improve uptime. Originally founded in Canada in 2012, and headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Intelligent Wellhead Systems Inc. ("IWS") is a wholly owned Canadian subsidiary of Pason Systems Inc., an Alberta Corporation established in 1978 that is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: PSI).
IWS is seeking a highly motivated Shop Supervisor to support our Midland Reliability and Maintenance Team, reporting to the senior Technical Operations Manager, and help maintain an adequate reliability and maintenance (R&M) program for the IWS equipment and inVision systems. IWS is a niche within the oil and gas sector, providing ample room for growth and career development. The candidate should have prior experience working in a manufacturing or a Repair and Maintenance facility setting. The selected candidate will be expected to learn the ins and outs of IWS’ technology. The facility is located in Midland, TX. This position is generally a Monday to Friday schedule, with overtime as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure company objectives and strategies are implemented to maintain an effective R&M program in the shop.
- Plan, schedule, and execute the R&M activities for IWS equipment and inVision systems in the shop throughout the work week.
- Supervise the R&M Technicians and the activities performed by them. Train and mentor junior team members.
- Fill daily reports for the work/activities performed in the shop; keep track of the R&M work.
- Ensure good housekeeping in the facility and keep it clean.
- Update IWS systems with the latest revisions and software releases, including user acceptance testing, to ensure everything functions as intended.
- Complete the IWS pre-deployment checklist for all equipment and modules before deploying to field operations; ensure the proper amount of deployable assets are deployed and scanned to modules.
- Ensure asset management compliance on scanning and tracking IWS modules and assets.
- Maintain the IWS certification program for lube spools (LS) and pressure sensors (PS).
- Prepare shipments following IWS shipping guidelines and receive incoming shipments, including loading and unloading.
- Coordinate logistics as necessary.
- Responsibly operate and handle tools and machinery; safely operate the forklift.
- Complete QC checklists for each module being shipped.
- Drive safety and deliver leading HSE performance.
- Maintain critical spares for the shop.
IWS Record-keeping System:
- Asset Tracking adherence as per IWS guidelines.
- Complete shipping manifests; create shipments in Dynamics for all the shipments: make sure to acknowledge the incoming shipments.
- Complete time entries and service tasks as required.
- Track and update asset revision properties in the IWS system of record.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a shop supervisor.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience in IWS technology, systems, operations, equipment, and assets is a plus.
- Experience upgrading and modifying equipment per engineering requirements and new product release notes.
- Excellent safety record and safety conscious with an interest in continued learning of safety precautions and procedures
- Good communication skills and ability to foster a healthy working relationship.
Travel Requirements:
- This position is responsible for maintaining the reliability and maintenance of IWS modules and assets and will require occasional travel to other shop locations within the USA.
Physical, Safety & Work Environment
- Ability to lift 45 pounds, vertical from floor to 60inches from floor
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility
- Ability to crouch/squat 5 or more times daily
- Ability to use hand tools over-head performing tasks 5 or more times per day.

- Completion of a Drug and Alcohol Screening Test
