Job Summary
As Executive Chef at Sasquatch Mountain Resort, you’ll play a key leadership role in shaping the guest dining experience across our expanding 4-season resort. Reporting directly to the Inside Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of our culinary operations—from menu design and food quality to team training and cost control. This position requires creativity, leadership, and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced, mountain resort environment.
With a keen eye for detail, strong budget awareness, and a collaborative spirit, you’ll lead our Food & Beverage team to deliver consistent, high-quality meals that elevate the overall resort experience. Your efforts will directly impact guest satisfaction, staff engagement, and the continued growth of our Food & Beverage department.

Job Specifications
- Wage: Based on experience
- Schedule: Full-time, including weekends and holidays
- Skill Level: Red Seal certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent training
- Reports To: Inside Operations Manager

Job Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen and bar operations including hiring, scheduling, training, and supervision of FOH/BOH staff
- Create seasonal and event-specific menus aligned with SMR's brand and guest expectations
- Manage inventory, ordering, portion control, and vendor relationships
- Ensure all operations meet FoodSafe, WHMIS, WorkSafeBC, and SMR standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all culinary facilities, including storage areas
- Supervise food preparation and presentation to ensure consistent quality and guest satisfaction
- Monitor kitchen equipment and coordinate timely repairs as needed
- Control food and labor costs while adhering to budgets
- Maintain accurate records including inventory, compliance inspections, and monthly reporting
- Collaborate with all departments to support events and guest needs
- Lead with a team-focused, guest-first approach to create a welcoming, efficient environment
- Represent Sasquatch Mountain Resort professionally and positively in all interactions
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Red Seal certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent training
- Proven leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food costing, inventory, and staff scheduling
- Up-to-date knowledge of culinary trends and best practices
- Experience with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and restaurant management software (Barnet or similar)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Valid BC driver’s license with clean abstract
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
- Criminal record and vulnerable sector checks required
