Position Overview:
Trillium Health Partners is currently in the final planning stage and start of construction activities of a long term infrastructure plan announced by the Ontario government which has dedicated significant funding to support the construction of new hospital projects across Ontario. As part of this plan, THP is growing the multi-disciplinary team that will lead planning and project management for the redevelopment and expansion of both the Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Health Centre sites. With constant inputs on design and planning considerations from all the respective expertise on the team, our goal is to work together to ultimately produce a holistic and inclusive design.
Trillium Health Partners is seeking an experienced Planning and Design Infrastructure Senior Project Manager to join its Capital Planning and Redevelopment portfolio. Reporting to the Manager of Planning and Design (Mississauga Hospital (M) site), the Infrastructure Senior Project Manager will be responsible for supporting THP’s Broader Redevelopment Project (BRP) at M site. Leveraging your experience in the planning and design of health capital projects, the Infrastructure Senior Project Manager will function as the main point of contact between the Contractor, Prime Consultant/engineers and the project team and advocate for quality design that supports THP’s mission.
M Site project is a full replacement of the existing Mississauga Hospital. The new build will accommodate acute beds and a full complement of clinical and non-clinical support programs.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Key point of contact with Planning, Design and Compliance (PDC)’s architectural and interior design teams
- Lead contact with PDC for all items related to infrastructure planning, building and interior design development, and associated Project Specific Output Specification (PSOS)
- Oversee the design progression and ensure alignment with overall site strategy and priorities
- Lead THP project representative at user engagement sessions and speciality workshops;
- Lead quality control and assurance activities and ensure overall coordination during Project Specific Output Specifications development
- Support the progression of the project through the Ontario Ministry of Health’s capital planning process
- Coordinate plans with other agencies having jurisdiction, including but not limited to the City of Mississauga, and Infrastructure Ontario
- Work closely and collaboratively with Project Leads to ensure planning and design work is coordinated and integrated across the various work streams
- Contribute to development and monitoring of master schedule related to all planning and design milestones
- Oversee multi-disciplinary consulting expertise to achieve project goals
- Advocate for the application of best practice throughout all aspects of the project
- Contribute to and report on project budget
- Support and acts as a champion for THP’s vision and values in applying a high level of planning expertise and partner focus
- Build trusted relationships with the project team and key internal/external stakeholders to advance key initiatives
- Support communication with project working groups that are integral to the success of the project(s)
- Engage and communicate with stakeholders on an ongoing basis and ensure changing resource and project requirements are met and understood
- Responsible for project controls including preparation of budgets and estimates, monitoring, reporting and processing of payments;
- Ensures the completion, coordination and preparation of project status and other reporting as required;
- Tracks all ongoing contract interpretation disputes and represent the owner as required at all meetings to negotiate dispute issues.
- Performs cross-functional duties as assigned and/or requested; performing other duties consistent with the job classification as require
- Other duties assigned, as required to meet timelines and deliverables
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree in architecture, engineering, interior design or a health care related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- PMP designation is preferred or demonstrated skill with respect to project management
- Minimum 10+ years of Project Management/Construction experience in healthcare redevelopment, large complex projects, leadership role (e.g. Senior PM) and 5+ years specifically working on hospital capital / infrastructure projects, preferably in an acute care facility.
- Working knowledge for preparation and implementation of various contracts types, Design-Build, CCDC2;
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with hospital operations and environments;
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with hospital mechanical and electrical systems;
- Comprehensive experience planning, managing and implementing health capital projects, including space and program planning;
- Excellent project management, risk and schedule management skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to read architectural, mechanical, structural and electrical drawings.
- Strong planning and analytical skills
- Solid leadership abilities
- Highly organized and demonstrated ability to take initiative.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Superior interpersonal and conflict management skills are required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including, at a minimum, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CAD, Revit and SharePoint are considered an asset
Location:
We offer employees, in roles that are conducive to remote work, the flexibility and the right mix of remote and in-office work (approximately 80/20). Acknowledging that the primary works space will be remote work from home, there will be times when onsite presence is appropriate just as there will be times when onsite presence may not be possible.
The expectation is that remote work locations, as part of the Flex First program, will be in the employee’s place of residence, and adhere to all THP policies and procedures, with special consideration towards privacy.
