About the role
Position Overview:
The City of Prince Albert invites applications for multiple casual positions of Janitor/Event Worker I in the Parks, Recreation & Culture Department. These positions will be located in the Arenas division.
Employees in this position perform a wide variety of janitorial functions as well as manual labour in and around the Arenas. Work of this class includes both heavy and light physical labour.
Supervision
Reporting to the Out-of-Scope Manager or designate, employees in this classification work under direct supervision and occasionally work independently on tasks as directed by the immediate supervisor.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of janitorial duties required to maintain a clean, safe and sanitary environment in and around the facility.
Perform manual labour and custodial duties required throughout special event functions.
Assist the Arena Attendants in a variety of arena maintenance operations.
Perform heavy manual tasks when required.
Keep records of work performed.
Follow the Act, Regulations and Policies of Occupational Health & Safety.
Follow Acts, Regulations, Bylaws, Agreements, policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to operate small hand and motorized tools.
Ability to operate small motorized equipment
Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to perform heavy manual labouring tasks.
Ability to deal effectively with the public and co-workers.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Required Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Valid Driver’s License
