As a Temporary Billing Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial operations that keep our clinics running smoothly for a one-year contract period. From Alberta Health to WCB and third-party payers, you’ll be responsible for accurate, timely billing that aligns with both internal standards and external requirements. By applying consistency and attention to detail, you’ll contribute to the care experience in a way that supports patients, providers, and internal teams alike.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • WCB Alberta Billing: Manage the submission, resubmission, and follow-up of WCB Alberta claims, ensuring billing is accurate, timely, and complete.
  • Third-Party Invoicing: Confirm and submit daily third-party invoices, to maintain consistent and reliable billing for non-insured services.
  • Report Verification: Review reports in RIS to verify billing details, including billing codes, fees, referring and cc’d physicians, and any additional charges prior to submission.
  • Update Billing Codes: Make necessary billing code adjustments when discrepancies arise to ensure accurate and compliant submissions.
  • Weekly Transfers Preparation: Validate weekly billing entries, resolving discrepancies prior to completing billing transfers in Sage.
  • Adjustments Entries: Enter approved changes into the ACCPAC spreadsheet to ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • RIS Support: Assist team members with RIS-related billing questions and patient payment inquiries, helping resolve concerns clearly and efficiently.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Billing Coordinators and cross-functional teams to meet billing deadlines, support evolving needs, and uphold accuracy across all billing functions.
  • Uphold Standards & Compliance: Promote adherence to protocols, processes, and regulatory policies.

What We’re Looking For

  • Educational Background: Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Medical Administration, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Healthcare Background: Experience in diagnostic imaging or a related clinical environment, along with familiarity with medical terminology, is considered an asset.
  • Billing Knowledge: Direct knowledge of billing processes, fee codes, and payer requirements, with experience identifying and correcting discrepancies to ensure submissions are complete, accurate, and compliant.
  • Technology Proficiency: Experienced with Microsoft Office, and confident using a Radiology Information System (RIS) to support accurate, efficient billing.
  • High Volume-Data Entry Skills: Accurate, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage large volumes of data and work within tight deadlines.
  • Cross Functional Capabilities: A track record of collaborating with clinical and shared services teams using professional communication that resolves issues efficiently.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable learning new systems and procedures, and adjusting to change in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Pay: A competitive renumeration package in recognition of your contributions.
  • Generous Time Off: Vacation, personal days, sick leave, and paid time off for your birthday to help you recharge and balance life.
  • Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision benefits, plus access to our Employee & Family Assistance Program for additional resources.
