They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join the team. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage compilation engagements, review engagements, and other accounting assignments.
- Perform comprehensive bookkeeping services, including reconciliations.
- Prepare personal, corporate, trust, and partnership tax returns.
- Handle tax elections and other tax reporting forms, such as T4s, T5s, GST, PST, BC Employer Health Tax, and other necessary reports.
- Address inquiries and requests from various tax authorities.
- Provide day-to-day accounting support to a diverse range of privately held business clients.
- Assist in training junior staff members.
- Undertake additional ad-hoc duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (preferably with a major in accounting or finance) or working towards completion, with a strong academic record.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in public practice, particularly with private enterprises.
- Proficiency in CaseWare, Profile, and QuickBooks Desktop.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Good research skills and a curious mindset.
- A keen interest in staying updated with tax legislation changes.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Adaptability and quick learning capabilities to handle changing demands and priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
