About the role
Overview
The Night Auditor is a key member of the Guest Services team responsible for the overnight operations of the Hotel, verifying the accuracy of guest accounts, balancing charges and revenues, as well as assisting with all aspects of guest services. The Night Auditor just like the Guest Services Agent is typically the guest’s first interaction with the hotel. As hospitality professionals, we need to ensure our guests receive consistent positive interactions.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon meeting
- Process guest arrivals and departures, including all necessary payments
- Run & Perform bucket checks and reports
- Issue room keys while keeping guest's security in mind
- Handle guests' concerns and follow up
- Provide information regarding hotel services, amenities, and local attractions
- Answer and direct all phone inquiries
- Program and record wake-up call requests
- Communicate between shifts passing on any pertinent information
- Utilizes instinctive selling techniques and company sales programs to maximize revenue and occupancy levels
- Maintains order and cleanliness of work space
- Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, standards and core practices
- Ensure accounts are settled appropriately
Qualifications
- Experience as a hotel Night Auditor is an asset
- Hotel front desk experience is an asset
- Post-secondary training in tourism or hotel management is an asset
- Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
- Professional attitude
- Good organizational skills
- Effective conflict management and decision-making
- Ability to use a variety of computer applications
- Cash handling experience
- Administrative skills
- Time management skills
- Knowledge of the facility, services and local area
- Must be able to legally work in Canada
- May be required to work weekends & holidays.
