About the role

Donor Services & Data Assistant, Fund Development

Location: Edmonton, AB | in-person | Casual | Union Position

About the Role

CKUA is seeking a detail-oriented and donor-focused Donor Services & Data Assistant to join its Fund Development team. This role ensures that donations are processed accurately and promptly, donor records are kept up to date, and donor inquiries are handled with care and professionalism.

This is a behind-the-scenes role that plays a key part in making sure the systems that support CKUA’s fundraising efforts run smoothly. From producing tax receipts to maintaining donor data integrity, your work helps create a positive donor experience and strengthens the operational foundation that allows CKUA to thrive.

This is a Casual position working up to a maximum of 20 (twenty) hours per week. Some additional hours may be required during peak periods in the spring and fall, with the potential for increased hours after September.

How You’ll Make an Impact

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all donations and pledges received, ensuring they are properly recorded in CKUA’s donor database, Raiser’s Edge. You’ll support the production and delivery of tax receipts, manage adjustments to donation records, and follow up on declined payments to help maintain CKUA’s recurring donor base. You’ll also ensure donor and constituent records remain clean, consistent, and accurate through ongoing data entry, maintenance, and quality checks.

In addition to processing donations, you’ll play an important role in supporting donor care. You’ll respond to inquiries with clarity and warmth, working to ensure questions are answered and issues are resolved in a timely and thoughtful manner. You’ll also provide occasional backup for shared inboxes related to donor communications.

From an administrative perspective, you’ll support the broader department by helping with tasks such as filing, meeting coordination, and tracking progress on key initiatives. Your ability to stay organized, manage your workload independently, and pay close attention to detail will be essential in this role.

What You Bring

You are someone who takes pride in accuracy, cares about a positive donor experience, and enjoys helping systems work better. You’re the kind of person who notices when something is out of place, spots inconsistencies others might miss, and understands the value of good data in building strong relationships. You enjoy having clear responsibilities, but you’re also flexible when priorities shift. You bring energy and commitment to your work and are motivated by supporting a mission-driven organization like CKUA.

You may have experience working with donor databases such as Raiser’s Edge and understand the importance of consistent and secure data entry. You’re comfortable handling confidential information, tracking payments, and communicating clearly with donors and colleagues. You’re also able to juggle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing needs during busy times.

You are someone who builds positive, respectful relationships and approaches your work in a way that reflects CKUA’s values of Community, Diversity, Inclusion, Creativity, Curiosity, and Authenticity.

Your background may include experience in data entry, customer or donor service, fundraising administration, member services, or nonprofit operations. We also welcome candidates whose lived or professional experience provides a strong foundation for the role, with or without formal education in these areas.
