Job Description

AECOM Calgary is seeking an experienced business development/Sales Lead to support our Environmental Planning and Permitting team. We are looking for a technically proficient and enthusiastic individual with experience in marketing environmental services. Our ideal candidate has the business development mindset to develop and execute marketing plans and the technical experience to support clients in a “trusted-advisor” capacity in Environmental sectors across Canada.

The ideal candidate for this role is a personable, driven, self-motivated, relationship builder, that can manage all aspects of growth of sales across our key market sectors. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong business development background and existing relationships with key clients in the renewables, energy, mining or oil and gas sectors.

We are seeking an individual with:

Business Development & Strategic Skills:

  • Proven expertise in business development / sales.
  • Experience working in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool such as Sales Force
  • Experience with sales forecasting & opportunity pipeline management.
  • Expertise in implementing strategic growth plans.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, creative problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Strong proposal management and excellent writing ability.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Prospect and cold call generation of new clients.

  • Maintain and development of current clients and accounts.

  • Build and maintain knowledge of emerging energy transition/strategic growth opportunities.

  • Identify, develop, and propose new projects; negotiate partnerships and alliances; structure and close transactions. manage senior-level relationships internally and externally.

  • Work independently and with team to pursue new business prospects.

  • Identify key conference or industry activities to attend, manage budget and ROI on these events.

  • Participate in industry associations and serve as a company role-model in business and community organizations.

  • Establish/expand AECOM’s brand recognition with key decision makers and leaders and industry.

  • Expand AECOM’s footprint by evaluating opportunities for teaming and partner relationships.

  • Develop capture plans that include teaming relationships and strategies that will further differentiate AECOM, and help our clients’ projects be successful.

  • Support the business through strategic capture planning and proposal development

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Environment Related Technical discipline
  • 6+ years of experience
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years consulting experience leading environmental projects

  • Environmental or Engineering Consulting Background.

  • Business development or sales background.

  • Strong understanding of capture planning process for professional services.

  • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to communicate problems clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff.

  • Ability to balance various project and company responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality.
