Jr. Production Planning and Control
Code: MMAP / 23256
Salary: $25.00 - 35.00 per hours
This position reports to the Manager of Production Planning and Control (PPC). The main task of this position is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work, information, and materials within the shop environment for jet engine overhaul and repair. Typical duties include sequencing, prioritizing, and monitoring production activities, as well as the creation of reports and KPI data. Other duties include data input to and output from Production ERP systems, organizing and chairing production meetings, and other improvement initiatives. Other duties include project work as assigned. This is a junior position which includes a component of further training and development.
Your Tasks:
- Be the point of contact for one Production team consisting of one Team Lead and 10 – 15 technicians
- Plan and coordinate production activities within one Production work area and consult with senior PPC Coordinators on production activities spanning multiple work areas
- Monitor maintenance progress and initiate recovery plans when required
- Prepare and communicate progress and status reports
- Liaise with stakeholders and support departments such as Supply Chain or Engineering to contribute to production target achievement
- Identify work-stop or on-hold situations and consult with senior PPC Coordinators to determine recovery plans and/or revised completion dates
- Escalate process concerns to Management and provide options for rectification
- Participate in process improvement projects across departments (Lean Management / CIP)
- Learn and further develop the skillset of a Production Control Coordinator
Our Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Operations Management or in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, or a diploma in a related field of study
- Work experience with SAP (or experience with comparable ERP software)
- Internship in Aviation Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) industry or Aviation Manufacturing an asset
- Education in Project Management, LEAN Management, or CIP an asset
- Intermediate skills with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of Visual Basic and SharePoint

MTU Canada is a North American member of the MTU Maintenance networks of companies, one of the largest provider of independent commercial engine services worldwide. The Canadian operations base serves in two locations in Delta and Richmond, British Columbia.
The Delta operations facility holds OEM technical data licenses required to maintain, repair and overhaul GE, IAE and CFMI engines: CF6-80, CFM56-2/3/7, F108, F138 and V2500 as well as a variety of other OEM licenses to perform MRO services on engine accessories for these and several other engine types. In 2022, MTU provided maintenance for V2500 and CF6-80 operators and owners and for the F108 and the F138 under USAF contracts.
