About the role
The Best Western Plus Sands is a 121 room hotel, with two on site restaurants and a banquet facility. We are located in downtown Vancouver's beautiful English Bay district, next to Stanley Park and the seawall! We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and customer service oriented bell associate. Our bell associates will double as guest service ambassadors who must be able to multitask and work well within a team atmosphere. We are looking for hardworking candidates who have a warm presence, are friendly and want to provide excellent service to create memorable moments for our guests. Our hotel offers a more laid back (yet professional), family friendly atmosphere, aiming to make guests feel like they're at home.
Duties include:
- Store guest luggage pre-arrival and post-departure
- Transfer luggage between guest rooms
- Baggage handling for tours
- Inform/book guests of tours/events going on in the city
- Provide guests with directions and recommendations
- Order taxis for guests
- Bring amenities to guest rooms after housekeeping hours
- Check parking lots to ensure cars have passes
- Open the door and greet guests coming through the lobby
- Communicate with other departments in a friendly manner
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift/carry 40 pounds
- Must be able to work morning or afternoon shifts, as well as weekends and holidays
- Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours
- Previous hospitality experience is an asset, but not required
- Strong communication skills. Additional languages are an asset, but not required
- Must have presentable grooming
- Strong customer service skills
- Must be ok with animals as we are pet friendly
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.85 per hour
