Role Summary Category Advisor for National C&G Channel - 40%
- Serve as the primary category lead for key national and regional C&G banners.
- Establish Arterra Wines Canada (AWC) as the trusted category captain by proactively creating and delivering regular category reviews that combine shopper insights, market trends, and performance analytics.
- Guide customers on how to unlock growth in the wine category through tailored assortment strategies, SKU optimization, merchandising principles, and planogram solutions.
- Own and lead AWC’s category captaincy relationships by building strong, collaborative partnerships with key customer contacts. Become their go-to advisor by providing timely, data-driven, and actionable recommendations.
- Conduct regular customer meetings (virtual and in-person) and in-store visits to strengthen partnerships and maintain a pulse on retail execution.
- Design and maintain wine planograms tailored to C&G retailers, aligning with strategic priorities and shopper behavior.
- Support scheduled and ad hoc planogram refreshes in line with each customer’s update cycle and assortment changes.
- Build planograms in-house using planogram software, or coordinate with third-party agencies as needed based on project scope and scale.
Planogram Advisor for Owned & Operated Retail Network - 40%
- Responsible for maintaining all Wine Rack store layout and planograms
- Lead planogram refresh and update at all Wine Rack locations, including planogram creation for store relocations and layout changes due to changes in shelving spaces.
- Coordinate communications and roll out of planograms with Wine Rack operations to ensure the execution of planograms at stores.
- Partner with the Category Development team and Wine Rack strategy leads to review space allocation across sub-segments, prioritize high-growth categories, and ensure a consistent shopper experience aligned with AWC’s strategic goals.
- Review and validate proposed new Wine Rack store layouts including merchandising space, fixture specs/measurements etc. to ensure accurate and effective planogram creation.
- Create planograms in-house or coordinate with third-party vendors depending on complexity and scale.
Planogram Lead within Category Development Team - 20%
- Act as the planogram subject matter of expert for the category development team to provide feedback, review, and alignment of best practices to support all planogram creations for internal and external customers.
- Act as the in-house Power Users of planogram software and support the building of planogram recommendation into retail-ready schematics.
- Act as the liaison with third party planogram company to support the creation of planogram schematics for customers, including coordination of larger-scale projects and customer requests.
- Contribute to the development of planogram and merchandising guides to support both internal teams and retail partners.
- Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline the planogram development process and enhance efficiency across AWC and its partners.
Education
- University Degree
Experience
- 2-3 years CPG Experience in category management, space planning, analytics or sales role
- Assortment & Planograms building experience
- Knowledge of planogram, merchandising and assortment optimization principles and best practices.
- Knowledge of the CPG industry and Canadian Retail Industry.
- Strong planning/organizing skills; Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and manage various projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to details.
- Project management skills
Qualifications, Certifications Or Designations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Experience with planogram software (JDA/Spaceman/Other)

Compensation : Budgeted Range – $68,689.00 – $88,892.00
The budgeted range considers several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards offering at Arterra.
