POSITION SUMMARY:
Part Time Position
Maintains high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility by cleaning and sanitizing rooms and furnishings in assigned work areas following established policies and procedures.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assembles required materials and supplies; loads service cart and transports to work area.
- Using specified cleaning/disinfecting/ sanitizing agents and following specific procedures, work patterns and routines, performs tasks such as: Sweeping, dry/wet mopping, scrubbing, sanitizing/disinfections floors; spot cleaning walls, windows and doors between washing; dusting; washing, sanitizing/disinfecting furniture, shelves, woodwork, etc. emptying waste baskets and rearranging furniture; removing waste; daily cleaning and disinfecting daily all bathroom fixtures and replenishing supplies cleaning floors, fixtures and furnishing in utility rooms, kitchen, closets, etc.
- Follows schedule for cleaning resident rooms.
- Ensures privacy of residents during performance of duties.
- Prepares room for new occupant following prescribed procedures.
- When supplies are low a request is left with the FSS to order listed supplies. Malfunctioning equipment is reported to maintenance supervisor.
- Returns unused supplies and cleans and stores equipment.
- Adheres to established department policies and procedures regarding quality management, safety, environment and infection control.
- Participates in team/ committee meetings
- Any other duties as may be assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Extensive standing and walking. Moving equipment and climbing ladders. Considerable lifting, reaching, squatting, kneeling and crouching. Exposure to hazards from use of power equipment. Exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors. Subject to interruptions of duties resulting from resident needs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Some understanding of chemicals and equipment used in cleaning. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
