Position Summary :
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing all aspects of care associated with the Endoscopy Program including admission, assisting during endoscopic procedure, recovery and discharge in accordance with CSGNA standards. This role will be required to participate in an on-call schedule including weekdays, weekends and stat holidays.
Position Requirements:
- BScN or equivalent
- Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current ACLS Certification
- Minimum of two years recent experience in an Endoscopy setting.
- Ability to think critically and effectively prioritize needs in emergency situations
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven decision making, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to operate and trouble shoot technical equipment
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary patient care team with a focus on patient-centered care
- Proven ability to perform in accordance with prescribed standards that recognize the priority of Patient Safety and the delivery of the highest standard of Quality Care
- Must have a level of physical fitness suitable to perform the essential duties of the position
- Good attendance and positive work record essential
- Preference will be given to applicants with the following additional qualifications:
- Meditech MSM experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and management of cases performed in an Endoscopy setting including EBUS, ERCP, colonoscopy, and gastroscopy
