Overview
Saskatchewan Research Council’s (SRC) Research and Technology – Lab Services Division has an opening for a Technologist who will conduct routine and non-routine testing using general laboratory and analytical equipment.
Accountabilities
- Prepare samples for analysis and perform a variety of laboratory tests using standardized lab procedures
- Operate and perform routine maintenance of instrumentation while adhering to protocols and safety guidelines
- Log samples into the lab information management system (LIMS)
- Calculate, report and track sample results in the LIMS
- Wash, clean, and store various forms of labware according to cleaning procedure.
Qualifications
- A chemical technology diploma or equivalent
- Experience with laboratory procedures
- Working knowledge of analytical equipment
Skills
- A team player with effective interpersonal, communication, multitasking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand and carry out written procedures
- Positive attitude and willingness to help where needed
- Safety oriented
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
