For the past century, HPS has grown to deliver electrical power solutions to global markets and provides solutions for complex applications like, mining, rectifier, drives, traction, wind, solar and many other electrical power applications. The world relies on HPS to continually conceive and produce state-of-the-art transformer technology. We currently have an opening for a Quality Engineer Co-op, come grow with us! This is for a 4-month Co-op position for the September 2025 work term.
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Quality Engineer Co-op reporting to the Director, Quality, will play a key role in supporting the Quality team through data-driven analysis and reliability assessments. You will work closely with the Director of Quality to analyze production and field data, calculate key performance indicators, and assess Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) to drive product and process improvements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collect, clean, and analyze quality and reliability data from production and field sources.
- Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Calculate and interpret MTBF and other reliability metrics for transformer product types.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.
- Assist in the development of dashboards and reports for quality performance tracking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customer Service.
- Document findings and present insights to the Director of Quality and other stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working towards a Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong capability in Microsoft Office software including Outlook and Word
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
