Job Summary
We are seeking an Investment Analyst to join the HCP team, offering direct exposure to the full private equity investment lifecycle—including sourcing, evaluating, executing, and monitoring investments. This foundational role is ideal for intellectually curious and motivated individuals eager to contribute to a lean, collaborative team and build a long-term career in private markets investing.
Analysts will work closely with Associates and senior investment professionals and will play an integral role in both investment execution and portfolio management. The position offers significant development opportunities and increasing responsibility based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Execution

Support due diligence on direct investments, co-investments, and fund opportunities

Build and maintain robust, user-friendly financial models for valuation and return analysis

Prepare and contribute to investment memoranda and materials for investment committees

Conduct industry, company, and market research to support investment theses

Assist in evaluating deal structures, terms, and financial implications
Portfolio Management

Monitor financial and operational performance of portfolio companies and fund investments

Support periodic valuations, performance attribution, and reporting activities

Analyze financing alternatives and follow-on investment opportunities
Strategic and Internal Initiatives

Contribute to research on investment themes, sectors, and structures

Participate in internal projects aimed at improving processes and sharing knowledge

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, tax, and operations during deal execution
Qualifications and Attributes
-
Recently completed a degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline with strong academic performance

Internship or full-time experience (6–18 months) in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or management consulting is beneficial but not required

Solid skills in financial modeling, business analysis, and due diligence

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with tools such as Capital IQ or Bloomberg is an asset

Effective communication skills and the ability to clearly present complex information

Detail-oriented with a curious mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving
