Reporting to the Vice President, IT Operations, Security & Compliance the Jr. Payments QA Analyst (Co-op) primary mandate is to perform Quality assurance and applications support functions for the payment services team.

The Jr. Payments QA Analyst (Co-op) Is Expected To

  • Possess basic knowledge and understanding of Payment Technologies
  • Assist senior members of the Payment Services team
  • Ensure system updates and changes are applied promptly

Key Responsibilities – Quality Assurance And Application Support

  • Able to perform testing and Interchange certification tasks/activities for various Payment networks such as MasterCard, Visa, Interac, American Express, JCB and China Union Pay
  • Understands Payment devices/applications such as Point-of-Sale, ATM, Mobile, etc.
  • EMV transaction processing and testing
  • Knowledge of Payment applications and Simulators (MDSS, VTS, ASSET, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of ISO Fields and Messages, VISA, and MasterCard interfaces
  • Documentation of test artifacts and adherence to industry best practices
  • Ensure all required tasks are carried out with high quality and are completed on time
  • Investigation/analyze technical issues and providing as many details as possible to development team members
  • Ensure resolution of technical issues (Start to finish)
  • Regression testing and releases for in house developed payment applications
  • Assist Payment Services team in automation of testing and associated activities
  • Perform required operations for systems/applications managed by the department
  • Perform “business as usual” tasks for systems managed by the Payments Services team
  • Assist production implementation-related activities such as planned system maintenance activities/tasks
  • Other tasks as assigned by the manager

Core Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); well organized, able to prioritize and complete tasks promptly, with minimum guidance or prompting
  • Problem determination and escalation/resolution (wherever possible)
  • Demonstrate good aptitude to learn and understand business usage of the system and make suggestions for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • College diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related area (enrolled in a Co-Op Program)
  • Experience in banking and payment technologies is an asset
  • Effective in promoting a positive and productive environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Familiar with the software development life cycle is an asset

Technical Skills Must Have

  • Microsoft windows environment
  • Microsoft Office suite of products (Office 365)
  • Web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.)
  • Database tools such as Microsoft SQL
  • Defect Management tools: JIRA, Confluence
  • Nice to have: EMV tools such as ICC Sim, Collis
  • Knowledge of automation testing tools such as Selenium, JMeter, Grinder
