Berwick Comox Valley retirement community is looking for a Community Relations Assistant who is reliable, authentic, and excited to make a difference in the lives of people. Pay:
Starting Wage is $27.56 (Includes provincial wage subsidy), plus shift differentials as applicable.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Community Relations Manager, assists with: event planning; execution of community relation events; development of advertising materials and lead development activities. Establishes trust and rapport with potential clients, identifies client needs, conducts tours/visits and completes all levels of client follow up including telephone calls and mail outs. Maintains community relations database, coordinates all move in/move out activities including related paperwork and new resident orientations. Completion of various administrative duties as assigned.
Skills/Personal Competencies:
- Ability to build relationships, establish trust and build rapport
- Exceptional active listening skills, and an ability to pick up on non-verbal cues
- Professional presentation skills, ability to use gentle persuasion, influence and motivate
- Strong communication skills and excellent telephone etiquette
- Self motivated team player with excellent judgment and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to write marketing, social media posts and communication materials
- Excellent analytical skills for assessing priorities and problem solving
- Must have excellent organizational and planning skills
Qualifications/Experience:
- Business or marketing-related degree or equivalent professional qualifications and experience will be considered
- One to two years experience in a sales and marketing capacity (preference given to those with experience in the seniors housing industry)
- Proficient and experienced with relevant software applications including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Marketing Database Systems and Publisher
- Proficient administrative skills including typing, data entry, file management and general office administration
- Community outreach experience is an asset.
Note: At Berwick we understand the importance of immunization to protect our residents, team members and visitors from COVID-19. As such, a prerequisite of employment is that all new hires are vaccinated as approved by Health Canada. A current TB test and criminal record check are also required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults.
