The Credit Analyst assists in the credit granting process by assessing current and potential customers. This position assesses customers’ creditworthiness to ensure the company is not lending to customers that may be a liability. This position also ensures that existing customers are in good standing by conducting periodic reviews and following up on payment. This position maintains accurate and up-to-date credit files and records and prepares regular reports.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage customer credit files.
- Negotiate documentation and payment terms with customers to ensure transactions are properly secured.
- Follow up on payment and resolve invoice/credit issues with customers.
- Prepare management reporting.
- Visit customers to reassure them of the validity of the present credit line.
- Review and monitor Accounts Receivable collection, inform the Sales Department of any changes and ensure the changes are followed.
- Conduct credit investigation on new customers and periodic reviews of existing customers through external and internal sources.
- Approve credit accounts and establish credit limits as a guideline for good credit judgement.
- Perform other duties and tasks assigned or required as are consistent with the nature and scope of the position.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in credit and collections.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
- Be willing to periodically travel to customer sites.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
- Effectively work within a team and has the ability to solve problems under pressure.
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- CCP candidate is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
