Reporting to the Community Investment Supervisor, the Community Investment & Public Safety Specialist provides leadership for
the planning, development, coordination and delivery of innovative and measurable electricity and natural gas public safety
programming to keep our customers safe. In addition, partners with select events and organizations to create customized strategic
marketing platforms to enhance Manitoba Hydro's brand and reputation across multiple customer segments; Builds support for
community investment and public safety initiatives through the development and maintenance of effective working relationships with
key internal and external stakeholders; Works primarily within an assigned portfolio to ensure effectiveness of Manitoba Hydro's
community investment and public safety programming and to proactively identify opportunities and recommendations to strengthen
the portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver energy education and safety programs by creating resource materials for students and educators and
conducting in-services for school divisions.
- Prepare and disseminate public safety messages by tailoring informational materials and programs for various customer
segments, including residential, agriculture, commercial, new Canadians, and youth.
- Maximize business opportunities and stakeholder engagement through strategic partnerships to enhance brand loyalty by
leveraging sponsored events, activities, and conferences.
- Research, deliver, and evaluate community investment programs by combining media selection, on-site activation, and
cross-promotions for effective programming.
- Analyze and report on special events to evaluate their impact on the Enterprise Strategic Plan and other business plans.
- Negotiate and manage sector-specific sponsorships by designing, delivering, and evaluating sponsorships to meet strategic
goals.
- Plan and deliver customer safety and service programming using displays, exhibits, and interactive activities at various events
and corporate sponsorships.
- Maintain industry contacts and knowledge to stay updated on developments in electrical safety and energy products.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent messaging and effective public safety campaigns,
working with Communications, Creative and Digital Engagement Services, Stakeholder Relations and other internal business
units.
- Coordinate and evaluate corporate initiatives and events by administering and monitoring initiatives at internal and external
events, including equipment delivery and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in business administration or other relevant discipline from a recognized university plus two years of
directly related experience in communication, education, resource development and marketing.

- Expertise in marketing and developing community investment, safety and education programs from conceptual design to

- Demonstrated self-starter with initiative to make and implement sound decisions.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience in writing comprehensive reports, including
preparing and delivering internal and external presentations.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate volunteers and provide leadership. Willingness and ability to
travel and attend meetings and functions outside of normal working hours (i.e. evenings, weekends) as required.
- Possess a valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's Licence.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $35.94-$49.73 Hourly,
$68,873.74-$95,300.14 Annually.
