About the role

Job Description The Shuttle Operator is responsible for driving a shuttle bus and transporting Seaspan employees, contractors, and visitors between the Pemberton campus, through North Vancouver, and the Sea Bus terminal in Lonsdale Quay. They are a front-line representative to our guests; customers, vendors, and employees will be required to display integrity, customer service skills, and courtesy towards others at all times.

Note: This is a casual role with varying shifts. This position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver. What You'll Do

  • Drives a shuttle bus to transport people between the Pemberton Campus and Lonsdale Quay.
  • Safely transports people.
  • Washes, cleans, and re-fuels the bus on a regular basis.
  • Rigorously observes operating & safety policies, procedures, and schedules.
  • Presents a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction.
  • Demonstrates personal accountability for the health and safety of themselves and those around them.
  • Obeys traffic law.
  • Conducts pre/post-trip bus inspections and reports mechanical issues promptly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • Unrestricted Class 4 Drivers License.
  • Clean driving abstract for the last 3 years.
  • Grade 12 education.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience driving a shuttle bus.
  • Ability to safely drive a shuttle bus.
  • Ability to work day shift, afternoon shift, or potential split shift.
  • Ability to drive for a continuous period of time.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven dependability and reliability.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow work and safety procedures closely.
  • Frequent standing, walking, driving.
  • Extended periods of sitting, ability to bend, twist, squat, entering in and out of shuttle bus.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver a minimum of 20 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

The estimated hourly rate for this position is $34. In determining the hourly rate, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
