We are looking for an Accountant who can multi-task in a fast paced environment, excels in team leadership, reporting, compliance, and financial processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all accounting functions necessary to ensure transactions are processed in a timely manner.
- Match and verify invoices with purchase orders, credit cards and related document. Liaise with vendors as required
- Enter vendor invoices into the system and maintain Accounts Payable records and vendor databases. Ensure correct account coding on all invoices
- Prepare reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
- Draft GST rebate and WCB returns
- Prepare and issue AR invoices with supporting documentation.
- Follow up on overdue receivables in accordance with established procedures.
- Respond to inquiries and requests regarding A/R and A/P
- Function as backup for the Payroll Administrator.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including files (paper and electronic), deposit backup, process descriptions, and payment documentation, in compliance with CRA and audit standards.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist in Year-End external reviews/audits
- Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
- Maintain monthly working papers including loan schedules, accruals, and prepaids
Ideal Candidate:
- 4+ years experience with A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, general ledger and payroll.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel)
- Experience with QuickBooks (strong asset)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as a willingness to be flexible.
- Experience with full cycle accounting
- Experience in a multi-company environment
- Initiative-taking, works with minimal supervision and a willingness to learn
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
