The opportunity:

The main activities of this position involve creating and maintaining space inventory drawings using existing plans and renovation documentation and verifying their accuracy by site confirmation. The incumbent will receive information from various sources and will create new, current AutoCAD drawings to provide continuous update of space inventory information that is essential to the efficient management of all University facilities.

The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

  • Completion of a Community College course in a formal Technical Drafting or Architectural Design program is required.
  • Minimum of one year of AutoCAD drafting experience in a design / consulting office, construction office, or facility management environment is required.
  • Some technical knowledge in the construction field would be beneficial.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must be fully functional in the use of AutoCAD Architecture 2014 or higher.
  • Must be able to work independently to produce professional results.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and effective time management skills.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving ability, initiative, and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
  • The incumbent must be in good health in order to perform assigned duties and visit project sites without assistance.
  • Must understand and be willing to participate in all safety programs and initiatives designed to ensure the well-being of all staff members.
