About the role
Our construction client is looking for a Plant Operator to join their team.
Duties:
- Support building operations , including: HVAC, BAS (Building Automation Systems), Electrical and plumbing systems, Fire systems, Indoor air quality and energy management
Qualifications:
- TSSA Operating Engineer Certification
- Ability to communicate orally in writing in English (French considered an asset),
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent,
- Previous training in, experience in and knowledge of Building Automated Control Systems, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, specialized temperature and humidity control equipment and fire systems and related codes,
- Building Environmental Systems Class I and II Diploma from Algonquin college or its equivalent in Quebec or its demonstrated equivalent from other colleges outside the area will be considered the standard minimum post-secondary education, but similar training plus experience in the field will be taken into consideration,
- Fall arrest, working at heights, lock-out & tag-out procedures, WHMIS & confined spaces training are mandatory, (can be provided)
- Certification and lift training (aerial scissor lift & aerial boom) in the operation of ariel lifting devices is also mandatory, (can be provided)
- Demonstrate skills working with various computer programs such as building automated control systems, electronic mail. Word processing and spreadsheets. CMN will facilitate training in site specific and/or museum-oriented program areas such as Interal and lighting controls,
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings,
- Ability to write technical operation and maintenance reports,
- Ability to train replacement operators
