Your Role:

As a Cook, you will play a vital role in providing nutritious, well-prepared meals that enhance the quality of life for our residents. Working closely with the Food Services Supervisor, you will ensure that meals are safely prepared and delivered with attention to dietary needs, taste, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals and baked goods according to approved menus and recipes, ensuring portion control, temperature, and quality standards
  • Review and accommodate therapeutic and texture-modified diets, allergies, and food sensitivities
  • Coordinate food preparation for special events, holidays, and catering functions
  • Maintain up-to-date records including food temperatures, production logs, deliveries, and menu changes
  • Ensure food safety standards are upheld and the kitchen remains clean and organized
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development
  • Foster a welcoming atmosphere that supports resident dignity and enjoyment of meals

What We’re Looking For:

· Safe Food Handlers Certificate required
· Culinary Management Diploma or Chef Training that meets Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities standards
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a restaurant, hotel, or institutional setting preferred
· Familiarity with dietary standards in long-term care or healthcare an asset
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Ability to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
