About the role

The opportunity

The Senior Associate, Total Fund Risk Analytics plays an important role in the measurement and monitoring of OTPP’s risk and exposure at a total fund level. Key responsibilities include ensuring the accurate and timely monitoring and reporting of OTPP’s investment exposure, credit counterparty risk, liquidity risk and long lookback market risk as well as ensuring all changes to the total fund systems are implemented in a controlled manner through rigorous UAT testing. The Senior Associate, Total Fund Risk Analytics works with Investment Division, Risk division and EOD division to design and implement new limits, products and risk models as defined in board and investment division policy and other committee meetings materials.

Who you'll work with

This role will develop, and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the Investment, Risk, Finance and Enterprise Operation divisions while working in a collaborative culture

What you'll do

  • Provide daily analysis, reporting and monitoring of the fund’s asset mix, liquidity risk and counterparty credit risk against trading limits and escalate as required
  • Maintain and enhance the BI reporting suite and various risk analysis tools developed inhouse to facilitate deeper understanding of risk drivers and changes
  • Utilizing automation languages to continually improve total fund risk and exposure measurement, attribution practice
  • Collaborate with Risk division, Investment Division and EOD division to implement risk model and reporting enhancements with a focus to asset mix, liquidity, and counterparty credit risk
  • Maintain and enhance what-if tools and prediction analytics related to exposure and risk forecasting
  • Supports the maintenance of procedures and processes related to analytical and reporting needs
  • Support and champion innovation, efficiency applicable to reports and daily processes
  • Maintain and develop working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

What you'll need

  • Relevant university degree (such as Financial Mathematics, Data Science, Business/Finance
  • CFA, FRM designation
  • 5+ years of investment risk related experience in the financial services/investment management industry
  • Proficient with SQL and Python or VBA. Experience with Power BI is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments, particularly derivative pricing and margin posting rules is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
