About the role

Caldwell Securities Ltd. About the job:

We are looking for a securities Trader with 3-7 years of experience. This job provides a highly rewarding career, as we are committed to excellence, growth and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Head Trader, the Trader job provides timely and accurate execution of trades for clients. This job observes the firm’s trading risk, as assigned. The job candidate will provides market information to clients and organize trading support activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists and executes orders for fixed income, foreign exchange, equity, and exchange traded options.
  • Reviews and assists Trader in the implementation of general and administrative issues, relevant to the department.
  • Reviews all activity for accuracy of account information.
  • Ensures correct ticket entry and order routing.
  • Maintains communication with back office and/or external counterparties; and assists in resolving any settlement problems.
  • Monitors all daily electronic trading activity and determines where certain trades should be routed for execution.
  • Ensures all trades are booked to front office position keeping system on the day they are executed.
  • Reconciles daily and/or monthly reports, as assigned.
  • Ensures compliance monitoring is in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Provides daily market information to be disseminated to clients
  • Ensures client general satisfaction and proactively seeks business with existing accounts.
  • Assists in general administrative activity for the team (Account opening, AML investigations, Wire processing, Free Transfers, Account Maintenance, etc.).
  • Monitor margin levels and risk exposure for applicable accounts

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics and/or related field.
  • Previous experience trading fixed income and equities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to follow up to meet deadlines.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively.
  • Excel or other software skills
