Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews with clients in the IT and high-tech sectors to identify SR&ED-eligible software development, system architecture, AI/ML, cloud computing, and other advanced technology projects.
- Prepare technical narratives for SR&ED tax credit claims, including identifying relevant developers, engineers, subcontractors, and materials, and estimating effort levels.
- Assist clients during CRA technical reviews and respond to CRA correspondence related to the technical aspects of SR&ED claims.
- Collect and organize supporting documentation from clients for claim preparation.
- Participate in sales and business development activities alongside SR&ED practice leaders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
A Successful Candidate Will Have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related high-tech discipline; a Master’s degree is an asset.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience, including at least 1 year of SR&ED tax credit preparation experience in the IT or high-tech space.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, programming methodologies, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, blockchain, cloud infrastructure).
- Excellent technical writing and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex software and technology concepts.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
