Circularity Supervisor

The Circularity Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day supervision of the circularity and outlet department including health & safety, shipping/receiving, unload/put-away, outlet rotations, circularity sortation/processing and other related circularity operations. Reporting to the Circularity Manager the Circularity Supervisor will assist in the effective day-to-day supervision of the operation including health & safety, people management, process flow/ standardization, quality control, communication, housekeeping and building security.

What You Will Do:

  • Schedules and monitors effective floor supervision for circularity and outlet operations ensuring that all work practices are always being completed in a safe and effective manner following regulatory and company policies.
  • Assist the Manager in the day-to-day operations of the store and circularity department and ensure standard procedures are followed by all team members.
  • Ensure the maximum daily table rotations are completed on a regular schedule.
  • Ensures safe working conditions and practices including, but not limited to manual handling, use of PPE, safe use of machinery and material moving equipment.
  • Effective floor supervision, training & development, health, safety & welfare of the team members. Ensures achievement of personnel related targets and provides strong leadership, direction and mentoring, thereby fostering and sustaining co-operation and team spirit.
  • Working closely with other management, setting measurable and realistic KPIs, work standards and expectations. Monitors and communicates KPIs, work standards and expectations, reports on progress and takes corrective action where appropriate.
  • Continually reviews and reports on resource requirements against anticipated plans (staffing levels, redeployment, training/cross training, machinery, and equipment requirements).
  • Ensures timely and accurate communication with all other management on factors relating to commodity quality targets, waste management, shipping/receiving, storage and outlet rotation targets as required to overcome problems.
  • Keeps other Management promptly advised on all relevant matters, problems, or requirements of the recycling operation.
  • Ensures daily standup communications are being held and effective employee communication is always maintained.
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all administrative, reporting procedures and documentation retention and forwards to the relevant parties.
  • Ensures a high standard of general housekeeping is maintained based on 5s methodology, a ‘clean as you go basis and following cleaning staff schedules.
  • Carries out health & safety audits and inspections as required. Records/reports findings and follows up on corrective action as required.
  • Ensure that all machinery checklists are carried out by users of machinery and material moving equipment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation/training of standard operating procedures for shipping/receiving, recycling operation, storage, and aftermarket sales.
  • Assist in establishing work schedules and ensures they are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned and completed effectively.
  • Oversees daily attendance tracking of team members, addresses attendance concerns in a professional and timely fashion and responsible for timely payroll submission for team members.
  • Follows the Customer Care Cycle (I Care) consistently providing world class customer service to all customers, internal and external, of Goodwill.
  • As a key holder, ensures the building is opened, secured and locked up and the alarm set as required.
  • Provide coverage for other management as needed during periods of absence, holiday, etc.
  • Responsible for other assigned duties and managerial responsibilities as assigned.
  • Support daily store operations, including performing opening and closing procedures to ensure smooth and efficient business functioning.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Computer literacy (MS office including work, excel, outlook, Power BI).
  • Experience in managing processes, workflow.
  • People management experience, including coaching and developing people.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Regulatory – MOL, ESA.
  • Budgeting, scheduling.
  • Listening, understanding, and responding.
  • Balancing of business and people.
  • Change Management.
  • Ability to hold people accountable.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent), post-secondary education in Business or related preferred.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity managing people and processes simultaneously.
  • Experience with standard warehousing and production procedures and practices.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred including coaching, mentoring, and developing employees.
  • Strong technical aptitude and PC skills an asset.
  • Lean Manufacturing background an asset, but not required.
  • Thorough working knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehousing/ manufacturing environment.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
