Experienced Advertising Sales Consultant to join Better Business Bureau
We seek an experienced, relationship-oriented salesperson to join our growing in-house marketing team, which helps Accredited Businesses achieve their marketing goals. Through the BBB Digital Marketing programs, your role will be to specialize in digital offerings (sponsored website listings, Google AdWords, etc.) and introduce and sell these programs to appropriate Accredited Businesses.
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is a not-for-profit organization that has been around for over 100 years and promotes trust in the marketplace. Accredited Businesses solely fund services provided in the community. Accredited Businesses must meet and maintain standards for good business practices. The BBB helps support good businesses into being better businesses. BBB offered marketing programs are one of the services offered by the BBB to help achieve that goal.
Major Role Responsibilities:
- Engage in daily outreach by making 50+ calls per day to introduce digital marketing offerings to our Accredited Businesses
- Carry out administrative duties for each program
- Maintain ongoing relationships with program participants
- Follow the Code of Ethical Sales Conduct at all times (by phone, video conferencing, or in person)
- Coordinate with the Marketing Program Manager, referring traditional media opportunities to this role and sharing suggestions for marketing campaigns to drive program successes
- Share insights and information relating to what Accredited Businesses may also be looking for help with regarding their advertising or BBB services
- Help Accredited Businesses leverage free programs like updating their BBB Profile and using the BBB Customer Review App
- Meet/exceed personal budgeted sales targets consistently (monthly, quarterly, annually). Track progress towards set goals, with an action plan to achieve them
- Support existing marketing program participants with renewals and updates on digital programs
- Act as an ambassador of the BBB by representing us professionally and being engaged at all times
- Utilize BBB CRM system to maintain accurate and up-to-date data on all clients
- Stay current on all BBB activities, and marketing initiatives, and communicate relevant information to clients
- Act as a conduit for Accredited Businesses and BBB Leadership by sharing opportunities for other value programs
Your Experience and Abilities:
- 2 + sales experience with a demonstrated ability to close the sale of marketing products and services, and be comfortable with all aspects of basic selling including cold calling
- Experience in digital marketing, technical, or advertising sales preferred
- Excellent communication skills – telephone sales experience is essential
- Experience and ability to execute a sales process and use a CRM database system
- Strong administrative experience including contracts and software tools for program management
- Demonstrated self-management skills and self-motivation to achieve superior results
- Proven experience building relationships with business owners and accounts is an asset
