About the role
Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for numerous daily tasks related to payroll and benefits administration. In this role accuracy, efficiency, and being detailed oriented is a must.
Duties Include:
- Process full cycle payroll for both union and non-union employees. Ensure each payroll is processed timely, accurately and incompliance with all regulatory requirement.
- Prepare payroll fillings and supporting documentation such as WCB, EHT, ROEs.
- Process and manage quarter-end and year-end tasks, including W2, T4, and remittance
- Prepare, verify and process benefits enrollments/terminations
- Maintain and update employee information such as record of employment, garnishment, and union fees.
- Report Union Dues and Union Initiation Fees and remit it to CLAC.
- Reconcile and Maintain Vacation Accruals and Payments.
- Respond to payroll and benefits employee inquiries
- Complete interim and annual employee payroll reviews/audits
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
- Strong command of English both verbal and written
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and possess a high level of accuracy
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep organized
- Able to take direction and follow through completion
- Strong comprehensive skills
- Experience with Dayforce is an asset
The desired candidate will have the following qualifications:
- 3-5 years previous Payroll and Benefits administration experience
- Experience in a dynamic multi-Organization environment is an asset
