About the role

WE ARE HIRING!

Predator Drilling Inc. is currently seeking an experienced full-time Heavy Duty Mechanic based out of the Red Deer office. This is a full-time position with a split between shop and field work with an on call rotation, schedule is subject to change in busier seasons.

As the Heavy Duty Mechanic, the successful candidate shall be willing to work on a wide range of equipment and provide a wide range of inspection, trouble shooting, maintenance and repair services within the Maintenance team to facilitate the efficient operation of the department.

Position Requirements:

  • Heavy Duty Equipment Technician - Journeyman Certificate.
  • Valid certifications such as H2S Alive, First Aid, and Fall Arrest, CSO etc.
  • CVIP license is an asset
  • Clean, valid class 5 license
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and site pre-access testing
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a heavy duty mechanic role within the oil and gas industry
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with hydraulic systems; troubleshoot, repair and adjust complex hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of diesel engine maintenance and repair
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in the shop, as well as work away in the field for extended periods of time during busy seasons
  • Competently perform preventative maintenance inspections
  • Clean and effective communication
  • Excellent judgement and genuine concern for safety
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs independently
  • Provide a broad spectrum of mechanical and technical support ensuring that downtime is minimized while being mindful of cost effectiveness.
