Program Summary :

The Clinical Systems and Informatics (CSI) team is a Trillium Health Partners (THP) Program that successfully implemented Epic as the hospital’s integrated Hospital Information System (HIS) in October 2020. The Program’s mandate is the integration of clinical practice, education, technology, information management, and data to create a trusted, comprehensive, integrated, evidenced based hospital information system with standardized tools and processes, to support THP’s mission of a new kind of healthcare for a healthier community.

The CSI team applies the principals of clinical informatics to inform, advise and guide the strategy for the HIS design, build, training, and implementation.

The CSI team consists of Application Analysts, Clinical Informaticians, Trainers, Business Intelligence Analyst, and Project resources who work in collaboration with clinical and non-clinical staff.

The CSI team is within the Quality, Risk, and Practice Division and focuses on bridging the gap between technology and process through a Quintuple AIM framework with a focus on system, user, and patient-based outcomes, within the resources available.

Reporting to the Manager, Projects and Partnerships, this position plays an integral role in the development, implementation and adoption of health care information technologies amongst clinicians across Trillium Health Partners (THP). The Clinical Informatics Analyst identifies and enables the implementation of workflow efficiencies, leading practices and transformation initiatives/projects that leverage clinical technology enablers and serves as primary liaison between Clinicians and Information Services. A highly skilled, evidence driven individual with exceptional analytical and people skills will excel in this position.

Here’s what you will get to do:

  • Collaborate with programs to expertly analyze business needs, document business requirements and translate them into meaningful technological specifications.
  • Manage relationships within assigned program area and ensure that technology needs are addressed
  • Optimize the delivery of CSI services by gathering feedback and providing recommendations on product enhancements and/or issue(s) resolution
  • Co-ordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of CSI services to programs
  • Apply change management, business analysis and project management methodologies to support transformation initiatives
  • Analyze workflow and redesign processes to support the integration of technology into clinical practice
  • Defining requirements, design, build and evaluating health care technologies
  • Train and educate clinicians/staff on the appropriate use of health care technologies
  • Support leading practice in care delivery, quality improvement and innovation initiatives through consultation and support throughout the organization

Competencies:

  • Knowledgeable in system development life cycle, ITIL certified an asset
  • Knowledgeable in principles and leading practice in health informatics science
  • Strong technical aptitude and healthcare business acumen
  • Demonstrates an ability to accept change and manage change effectively
  • Demonstrates a pattern of self-development and a drive to learn by engaging in formal and informal learning to develop knowledge and technical skills
  • Helps to improve the skills and capabilities of others and fosters their long-term learning and development through coaching and mentoring
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills
  • Seeks out, considers, and integrates the appropriate data, ideas, and experiences to make decisions and solve problems
  • Translates ideas and concepts into practical applications

What you need:

  • Master’s degree in Health Informatics preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical discipline, health informatics or information management or equivalent experience - required
  • Registered member for a regulated health care professional college is preferred but not required
  • 3+ years of related progressive experience in a health care environment - required
  • 3+ years in a clinical area of expertise (with exposure to medication use systems) - preferred
  • Experience with the implementation of Hospital Information Systems - required
  • Experience with the implementation of HIMSS 6 functionality - preferred
  • Experience with relationship management and working with clinicians to integrate technology into practice - preferred
  • Advanced skills in business analysis, workflow process redesign, and stakeholder engagement - required
  • Strong change management and project management skills
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff including physicians, patient service leaders and various other internal/external client groups
  • Sound organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task and meet conflicting deadlines.
