JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Director of Global Tax Operations to lead and optimize global tax processes across a multinational footprint. Reporting to the Senior Director of Tax this role will be responsible for driving tax compliance, managing global tax examinations, enabling transaction structuring and legal entity optimization, and leading M&A tax integration efforts. The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge, operational rigor, and the ability to partner across departments to ensure effective tax execution aligned with business strategy.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Global Tax Compliance Oversight:
    Monitor the filing of global direct and indirect tax returns, coordinating with regional teams, shared services, and external advisors.
  • Tax Audit & Examination Management:
    Oversee global tax audits and examinations, serving as the central point of coordination to ensure timely responses, documentation readiness, risk mitigation, and consistent handling across jurisdictions.
  • Transaction Structuring Support:
    Partner with tax planning, legal, and finance teams to support the operational execution of complex business transactions, restructurings, and intercompany arrangements.
  • Legal Entity Optimization:
    Drive global legal entity simplification and rationalization efforts in collaboration with treasury, legal, and accounting to improve tax efficiency and reduce administrative burden.
  • M&A Tax Integration:
    Lead tax operational aspects of acquisitions, divestitures, and post-merger integration activities, including onboarding acquired entities into global tax processes, systems, and controls.
  • Tax Process Optimization:
    Design, implement, and improve scalable tax operations, reporting frameworks, and internal controls to enhance consistency, accuracy, and audit readiness.
  • Technology and Automation:
    Champion the use of tax technology tools (e.g., OneSource, Vertex, Alteryx, SAP S/4HANA) to automate compliance and enhance tax data visibility and control.
  • Tax Accounting Support:
    Support quarterly and annual tax provision processes by providing accurate, timely operational data and compliance insights under IFRS.
  • Governance and Risk Management:
    Ensure strong internal controls, including SOX compliance and tax risk governance documentation across global operations.
  • Vendor and Outsourcing Management:
    Oversee third-party tax compliance service providers and outsourcing partners, ensuring deliverables meet quality and efficiency expectations.
  • Team Leadership:
    Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global tax operations team. Foster collaboration, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • CPA, CA, or other recognized accounting/tax designation required/Master’s in Tax or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience in a multinational corporate or Big Four environment, including direct exposure to tax operations, compliance, and transaction execution.

  • Experience leading global tax audits and working with international tax authorities.

  • Strong understanding of legal entity structuring and post-merger integration processes.

  • Hands-on knowledge of global tax compliance obligations, process design, and technology implementation.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and tax technology platforms.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Involvement in global transformation initiatives, entity rationalization, or M&A lifecycle activities.

  • Familiarity with BEPS 2.0, Pillar 2, and evolving international tax frameworks.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • A strategic mindset with operational execution discipline.
