About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Casulaty Complex Adjuster to join our team in Canada. The position location is flexible, and we can offer in-office, hybrid or fully remote working arrangements.

The successful candidate investigates, evaluates, negotiates, and settles claims by telephone, correspondence and when required through mediation (virtual or in person) and correspondence. Settling losses within delegated authority or reporting to clients while also directing field adjusters, experts and legal council on a task basis.

This role requires frequent interactions in English and requires reading and preparing documents in English on a frequent basis.

  • Investigation, collection, and analysis of claims information

  • Accurate recording, reporting and presentation of files

  • Evaluates coverage, liability and quantum

  • Maintenance of accurate billing, and time and expense records

  • Negotiates, settles, and finalizes claims

  • Work with manager to maintain client relations

  • Minimum 6 years of technical claims handling experience in commercial auto and property claims handling

  • Post Secondary education in an insurance related field will be considered an asset

  • Experience is multiline claims, complex claim handling, legal proceedings and litigation management

  • CIP designation or working towards CIP designation is required

  • Independent Adjuster Licensed with ability to maintain a full adjusting license in your home province. Multiple provincial licenses is preferred.

  • Strong computer and reporting skills including Office 365 and Windows 10

  • A team player with outstanding customer service skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and mathematical ability

  • Able to manage multiple priorities

  • Strong PC skills including application based skills

  • Complete continuing education courses as required by Crawford and Company, province, or professional trade association
