About the role
Overview
With over 27 years of experience in recycling industry contracting, Our services include sales of recycling equipment as well as millwrighting, preventative maintenance, installations, fabrication, machining, hydraulics, and electrical services.
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide support to more experienced millwrights in all millwrighting tasks and provide shop support when needed. Millwrighting tasks will mainly include troubleshooting and repairing machinery, assembling, and installing machinery, welding, fabrication, and manual machining. Shop support will include basic shop maintenance, sweeping, organizing shelves, painting, moving machinery and shelving, loading, and unloading vehicles, cleaning vehicles, and running errands.
We are a lean manufacturing environment so consistent improvement and following processes is very important.
Skills Include:
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting on production equipment in a variety of manufacturing industries, such as Food, Automotive, Steel, Pulp and Paper, and Recycling
- Conducting Preventative Maintenance activities and prioritizing tasks accordingly
- Ability to identify root cause of equipment failures and follow-up onfeasibility of modifications
- Experience laying out, fitting, welding (MIG and TIG) custom fabrications
- Ability to design and fabricate one-off pieces independently, as well as following blueprints and verbal direction
- Manual machining
- Experience with hand tools (grinder, drill, die grinder, various saws)
- Experience with shop tools (various saws, welders, drill press, iron worker)
- Attention to detail leading to high quality work
- Ability to multitask
- Working safely
- Working independently (independent problem solving), as well as in a team
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Comfortable with computers
- Training in Lift Truck, Aerial Platforms, and WHMIS would be considered an asset but not a requirement
- Understanding of Lean principles
- Commitment to continuous improvement
Required Education:
High School Diploma/Certificate
